New Books in PsycBooks

In September, PsycBooks added 2 contemporary books and 10 classic books to its database.  A full list can be found here.  The 2 contemporary books are described below:

Personality Disorders and the Five-Factor Model of Personality, Third Edition  2012  Edited by Thomas A. Widiger, PhD and Paul T. Costa, Jr., PhD

“This book explains how personality disorders can be understood from the perspective of the FFM, the most heavily researched and empirically supported dimensional model of general personality structure. The chapters summarize the conceptual and empirical support for the FFM, including the dimensional description of specific personality disorders and the application of the model for assessment and treatment. Case studies are also provided.”

Testifying in Court: Guidelines and Maxims for the Expert Witness, Second Edition  2012  By Stanley L. Brodsky, PhD

“For over 20 years, Stanley Brodsky's Testifying in Court has been a trusted guide for expert witnesses across a variety of professions. Readers have come to know and trust his sage and good-humored advice on every aspect of the experience from initial preparations to maintaining power and control during cross-examination.  In this extensively updated edition of his classic text, the author has combined a wealth of new research with feedback from users of the first edition and his own evolving experience as an expert witness. As in the first edition, key principles are addressed in brief essays that draw on real-life scenarios and end in a take-home maxim.”
